The Engineering Manager will be accountable and responsible for all of the design and engineering activities (all disciplines) within their designated sector, with co-ordination from the sector lead (Head of Sector/Sector Director) and the Project Managers for each project. The role will include being the functional leader for Engineers and Designers, both for internal resource and the “supply chain”, through a matrix style organisation chart in direct collaboration with their line managers the heads of (discipline) engineering. As part of the role they shall support work winning, estimating, procurement, construction and commissioning activities for the projects within their sector. The role holder will act as the sector specific delegated technical expert and they shall work with the heads of (discipline) engineering to resolve any technical issues. The role will also be responsible for the leadership and mentoring of graduates within the sector as well as the application of VVB's CORE values in their day to day duties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing leadership in all facets of engineering and design activities within their sector, to deliver the projects to meet cost, time and quality requirements.
- Ensures that all projects are in compliance with VVB's Design Management and Assurance Procedures and Quality Management System.
- Ensures design reviews are carried out.
