About the Anthro JV: The Anthro joint venture between Egis and VVB Engineering will provide comprehensive turn-key services for London’s state-of-the-art HS2 gateway station at Old Oak Common. We have been awarded a multi-year contract to deliver MEPHFC (Mechanical, Electrical Public Health, Fire and Communications) systems works.

About the Role: We are looking for a skilled and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team on a prestigious HS2 rail project. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with knowledge and experience in pre and post-contract management and procurement within the UK rail sector. You will utilise your expertise to drive efficiencies and engage effectively with our supply chain while contributing to a major infrastructure project that will shape the future of rail travel. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be fully supported in your professional growth with access to full RICS training courses, a clear path to chartership, and the opportunity to develop your career to the level you desire. Key Responsibilities:

  • NEC3 contract management and administration, both upstream and downstream
  • Establish and manage entitlement with a focus on maximizing entitlement under the contract
  • Investigate and draft contract communications and notices, including Early Warning Notices, notification of Compensation Events, and General Communications
  • Liaise and negotiate with the Client’s Commercial and/or project teams
  • Establish and maintain productive, collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ensure appropriate commercial records are maintained in line with contract requirements and oversee any contractual issues
  • Provide contractual and commercial risk advice to the Commercial team and wider Technical and Construction Delivery teams
  • Contribute to project financial monitoring and reporting
  • Administer subcontractor and supplier contracts, including EWNs, changes, payments, forecasts, and final accounts
  • Lead the review and valuation of subcontractor applications for payment in accordance with contractual terms and conditions
  • Manage, monitor, and report on commercial and cost reporting aspects of allocated projects, including CVRs and cost control
  • Support the programme and project teams to ensure full compliance with contract and corporate governance rules

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Proven experience in pre and post-contract management within the UK rail sector
  • Strong understanding and experience with the NEC3-4 suite of contracts (A-C-E must have)
  • Ability to work on-site a minimum of 3 days a week
  • High energy and enthusiasm, with a commitment to developing both yourself and others
  • Applicants must have the right to work in the UK
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent MEP experience
  • Main contractor and/or joint venture experience
  • Experience in controlling costs for self-delivery works
  • Exposure to negotiating and procuring subcontract packages (Design-Delivery-Commission), testing the robustness of costs and ensuring value for money
  • Ability to prioritise the delivery of objectives
