We are looking for a dedicated Highways Supervisor to join our team and oversee critical aspects of highways works, including cable installations, testing, and minor works.

Key Responsibilities

As a Highways Supervisor, you will:

  • Collaborate with Project Management to optimize workforce levels, materials, and project progress.
  • Ensure optimal labor levels while adhering to VVB CORE principles.
  • Mentor apprentices, including allocating work and reporting on progress.
  • Supervise subcontractors and stakeholders on-site to maintain project standards.
  • Manage daily workforce activities to meet project timelines.
  • Uphold health and safety standards, addressing concerns promptly with the Project Manager.
  • Compile daily and weekly reports.
  • Maintain equipment and report breakages.
  • Interpret, communicate, and mark up site drawings and documentation.
  • Validate test certificates to ensure quality of work.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers and subcontractors on installation and buildability issues.

Technical Knowledge and Skills
Essential:

  • Knowledge of H&S legislation.
  • Demonstrable understanding and knowledge of CDM processes.
  • Ability to interpret drawings.
  • Knowledge of HERS.
  • Familiarity with National Highways systems and technologies.
  • Knowledge of National Highways specifications and standards.

  • C&G 18th Edition.
  • HNC Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
