We are looking for a dedicated Highways Supervisor to join our team and oversee critical aspects of highways works, including cable installations, testing, and minor works.
Key Responsibilities
As a Highways Supervisor, you will:
- Collaborate with Project Management to optimize workforce levels, materials, and project progress.
- Ensure optimal labor levels while adhering to VVB CORE principles.
- Mentor apprentices, including allocating work and reporting on progress.
- Supervise subcontractors and stakeholders on-site to maintain project standards.
- Manage daily workforce activities to meet project timelines.
- Uphold health and safety standards, addressing concerns promptly with the Project Manager.
- Compile daily and weekly reports.
- Maintain equipment and report breakages.
- Interpret, communicate, and mark up site drawings and documentation.
- Validate test certificates to ensure quality of work.
- Collaborate closely with engineers and subcontractors on installation and buildability issues.

Technical Knowledge and Skills
Essential:
- Knowledge of H&S legislation.
- Demonstrable understanding and knowledge of CDM processes.
- Ability to interpret drawings.
- Knowledge of HERS.
- Familiarity with National Highways systems and technologies.
- Knowledge of National Highways specifications and standards.
