About the Anthro JV:
The Anthro joint venture between Egis and VVB Engineering will provide comprehensive turn-key services for London’s state-of-the-art HS2 gateway station at Old Oak Common. We have been awarded a multi-year contract to deliver MEPHFC (Mechanical, Electrical Public Health, Fire and Communications) systems works.

About the Role:

We are seeking a Commercial Manager to join our team and work on a prestigious HS2 rail project. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead and develop within the UK rail sector, working on a high-profile infrastructure project that is shaping the future of rail travel.

As a Commercial Manager, you will bring your expertise in pre and post-contract management and procurement to drive efficiencies and engage with our supply chain. You will play a crucial role in supporting the successful delivery of this major project, with opportunities for professional growth and development, including full RICS training courses and a clear path to chartership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and develop junior team members, providing guidance and mentorship
  • Administer NEC3 contract management, focusing on entitlement maximization, drafting contract communications, and issuing Early Warning Notices and Compensation Event notifications
  • Liaise and negotiate with the Client’s Commercial and project teams, fostering productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Identify, manage, and mitigate commercial risks while seizing opportunities for improvement
  • Lead project financial reporting, monitor cashflow forecasts, and implement actions to improve margin and cash position
  • Administer subcontractor and supplier contracts, ensuring compliance with contractual terms and conditions
  • Ensure full compliance with contract and corporate governance rules, supporting project teams in maintaining high standards of commercial control

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Proven experience in pre and post-contract management within the UK rail sector
  • Strong understanding and experience with NEC3-4 suite of contracts
  • Ability to work on-site a minimum of 3 days a week
  • Ability to manage and develop a team, with strong interpersonal skills
  • Proactive in resolving and avoiding disputes, with a focus on cost control and commercial performance
  • Applicants must have the right to work in the UK
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent
  • Experience with MEP, main contractor, or joint venture projects
  • Knowledge of negotiating and procuring subcontract packages, ensuring value for money
  • Working towards or having achieved chartership of a relevant institution
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
