Job Description

As a Business Value Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in guiding prospective clients through their journey from initial interest to successful pilot execution.

Acting as a strategic co-pilot alongside our Account Executives and Solution Engineers, you'll help shape compelling use cases, define success metrics, and demonstrate the business and functional value of our solutions.

With a strong understanding of the retail landscape, retail insights and/or retail media, you will help customers identify opportunities to leverage data and technology to drive measurable business outcomes.

Your insights will directly influence customer confidence, demonstrate return on investment, and support long-term customer success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with Account Executives and Solution Engineers to ensure the success of pilot engagements, aligning technical capabilities with customer business needs.
  • Engage with retailers and other key stakeholders to uncover pain points, goals and strategic priorities, translating these into actionable use cases that demonstrate the value of our solutions.
  • Apply your understanding of retail insights, shopper behaviour, retail data and retail media to identify opportunities and build compelling value propositions for customers.
  • Help customers understand how data and insights can be translated into measurable commercial outcomes, including improved shopper engagement, operational performance, revenue generation and return on investment.
  • Work with stakeholders to define measurable success criteria and KPIs that guide pilot outcomes and future deployment decisions.
  • Build and present compelling business and financial cases, demonstrating the potential value and ROI of our solutions.
  • Contribute to the preparation and response of Requests for Information (RFI) and Requests for Proposal (RFP), ensuring alignment with customer expectations and solution capabilities.
  • Deliver tailored demonstrations and presentations that highlight the functional and commercial value of our platform, addressing specific customer challenges and goals.
  • Ensure a seamless transition from pre-sales to deployment by documenting use cases, success metrics and pilot learnings for implementation teams.
  • Stay informed on developments and trends across retail, retail media and shopper/consumer insights, bringing relevant market perspectives into customer conversations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, Marketing, Economics, Data/Analytics, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in pre-sales, solution consulting, technical sales, retail insights, retail media, category/shopper insights, or a related customer-facing role.
  • Strong understanding of the retail industry, ideally with experience working with retailers, retail technology providers, retail media networks, data/insights businesses, or FMCG/CPG organisations.
  • Knowledge or experience in retail media and/or retail insights, including how retailer and shopper data can be used to generate actionable insights and commercial value.
  • Proven ability to translate business challenges and customer data into compelling use cases and value propositions.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to build and present financial business cases and demonstrate ROI.
  • Strong understanding of RFI/RFP processes and proposal development.
  • Experience working with Solution Engineers or technical teams in pilot engagements.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly to business and technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to define and track success metrics for customer engagements.
  • Familiarity with enterprise software, Saa S platforms, data/analytics solutions, or digital transformation initiatives.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a customer-centric mindset.
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, cross-functional environments.
  • Fluent in English.
