Some of the main responsibilities of the Project Manager will include:
- Lead the delivery of valves contracts, ensuring scope, schedule, cost, and quality requirements are achieved.
- Oversee supplier surveillance activities, including monitoring design, procurement, manufacturing, testing, and qualification deliverables.
- Author and maintain technical contract specifications, ensuring clarity, compliance, and alignment with engineering requirements.
- Manage contract configuration, technical interfaces, and change control across internal and external stakeholders.
- Lead the qualification process for valves, ensuring all technical, regulatory, and safety requirements are met.
- Manage and close technical Open Points impacting contract delivery, coordinating with engineering and suppliers.
- Support the qualification of new valve suppliers for nuclear activities, ensuring alignment with industry standards and client expectations.
- Maintain strong relationships with suppliers, engineering teams, project controls, and client representatives.
- Monitor progress against baselines, identifying risks, opportunities, and mitigation strategies.
- Ensure documentation, compliance, and assurance requirements are met throughout the contract lifecycle.
Alongside a commitment to our values of Care Compassion, Performance, Team Spirit, and Inclusiveness, we are looking for individuals who can bring the following:
- Proven experience as a Project Manager within the nuclear sector or other highly regulated industries, Hinkley Point C experience is preferred.
- Direct experience managing valves contracts or similar high‑integrity mechanical equipment packages.
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering, manufacturing processes, and nuclear quality requirements.
- Experience overseeing supplier design, procurement, manufacturing, testing, and qualification activities.
- Ability to manage complex technical interfaces and contract configuration.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Strong project controls awareness, including schedule, cost, risk, and change management.
- Reside locally to Bridgwater or be prepared to relocate, as this permanent role does not include travel expense coverage.
Please note that visa sponsorship is not guaranteed and is assessed on a case-by-case basis, depending on role criticality and project needs. Many of our UK projects require high-level security clearance, meaning we can often only consider candidates with an existing, indefinite right to work in the UK. Exceptionally, we may consider visa sponsorship for applicants with niche experience aligned to our core work (e.g. EPR/nuclear new build).
