We are seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support the delivery of valves contracts within a major nuclear new build environment. This role is ideal for someone with experience in mechanical equipment packages — particularly valves — who is ready to take the next step in project delivery. You will work alongside senior project managers, engineering teams, quality specialists, and supply chain partners to ensure valves packages progress through design, procurement, manufacturing, qualification, and delivery stages in line with nuclear safety and regulatory expectations. Some of the main responsibilities of the Assistant Project Manager will include:
- Support the management of valves contracts, ensuring progress against scope, schedule, cost, and quality expectations.
- Assist with supplier surveillance activities, including monitoring design, procurement, manufacturing, testing, and qualification deliverables.
- Contribute to the authoring and maintenance of technical contract specifications.
- Support configuration management, technical interfaces, and change control processes.
- Assist in managing the qualification of valves, ensuring compliance with technical and regulatory requirements.
- Help track, manage, and close technical Open Points impacting contract delivery.
- Gather and share supplier feedback, lessons learned, and improvement actions with project stakeholders.
- Support the qualification activities for new valve suppliers entering nuclear programmes.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, quality, and project controls teams to maintain alignment across workstreams.
- Prepare documentation, reports, and updates for internal and external stakeholders.
- Monitor risks, issues, and opportunities, escalating where appropriate.
