Civil & Structural Package Manager
Vulcain Engineering UK are seeking an experienced Civil & Structural Package Manager to lead the development and delivery of complex structural engineering solutions within a major nuclear decommissioning programme. This role provides advanced civils and structural engineering expertise to support decommissioning activities, ensuring safe, compliant, and technically robust solutions across a complex infrastructure environment.
Some of the main responsibilities of the Civil and Structural Package Manager – Decommissioning will include:
- Review and critique the decommissioning strategy, applying extensive structural engineering experience.
- Provide expert guidance on programme phasing, priorities, and engineering decision‑making.
- Lead or support structural inspections, site characterisation, and assessment of building layouts.
- Carry out structural analysis and produce reports, calculations, and design documentation.
- Manage structural design data and ensure quality‑controlled publication of documentation.
- Support concept development for complex building structures and prepare for handover to detailed design.
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and knowledge transfer within the engineering team.

- Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering with Chartered Engineer status.
- Extensive experience applying structural design codes and carrying out numerical analysis.
- Proven engineering leadership in complex programme environments.
- Background working in decommissioning in nuclear or similarly regulated sectors.
- Understanding of health and safety legislation relevant to structural engineering.
- Ability to supervise, mentor, and quality‑check the work of other engineers.
Ideally we are seeking permanent staff, but may be able to consider other employment types.
