About Vulcain Engineering: Vulcain Engineering, an international engineering consultancy, supports global industrial leaders in their transition to a more responsible and sustainable future. We support our customers in the design, construction, commissioning and operation of their complex infrastructure projects that will shape the world of tomorrow. With operations in 17 countries and employing over 6,000 staff worldwide, our business responds to the needs of our clients by delivering high-value engineering expertise tailored to our clients' most complex challenges.

In the UK, we have a key focus in the Nuclear sector, contributing to ground breaking projects, such as Hinkley Point C (HPC), as well as frameworks across decommissioning, fusion, defence and renewable energy.

The Position: We are looking for an IMS Lead to join our nuclear new build delivery team, supporting the development and continuous improvement of the Integrated Management System (IMS). This role focuses on procedure development, process modelling, and process governance within a highly regulated major project environment. You will lead IMS procedure activities, process mapping, and process architecture support, working closely with stakeholders to develop, refine, and standardise controlled procedures and process documentation.

Some of the main responsibilities of the IMS Lead will include:

  • Lead the development, refinement and standardisation of IMS procedures, controlled procedures, and process documentation.
  • Create, update and retire procedures and work instructions within the Integrated Management System (IMS) framework.
  • Run process workshops and stakeholder sessions to define processes and translate them into mapped procedures and process models.
  • Produce process maps, process models and workflow diagrams using Visio and process modelling standards (BPMN beneficial).
  • Manage the procedure pipeline, prioritisation and governance workflow across multiple functions.
  • Coach and guide SMEs and analysts on procedure development best practice and process modelling standards.
  • Support IMS process architecture and ensure procedures align with regulatory and management system requirements.
  • Coordinate with digital and document systems teams to ensure accurate publication of IMS procedures and process models in controlled systems and EDRMS tools.

This role offers the opportunity to work on a major nuclear new build programme, shaping how processes and procedures are defined and implemented at scale. You will play a key role in improving the Integrated Management System, influencing process design and procedure standards across a complex engineering environment. We offer long-term project stability, meaningful technical responsibility, and the chance to lead process modelling and IMS best practice within a high-impact programme.

Preferred Profile: Alongside a commitment to our values of Care & Compassion, Performance, Team Spirit, and Inclusiveness, we are looking for individuals who can bring the following:

  • Strong experience developing and improving procedures, SOPs, work instructions and controlled process documentation.
  • Proven experience working within an Integrated Management System (IMS), QMS or regulated management system environment.
  • Hands-on process mapping and process modelling experience using Visio; BPMN or formal process modelling standards desirable.
  • Experience running process workshops and translating business processes into procedures and process models.
  • Background in nuclear, energy, construction or other highly regulated major project environments.
  • Knowledge of process governance, process architecture or process libraries within management systems.
  • Experience with process repositories or IMS tools such as iServer, Orbus or similar is desirable.
  • Lean Six Sigma or process improvement experience beneficial, with strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Reside locally to one of the contractual locations, or be prepared to relocate, as this permanent role does not include travel expense coverage.

Please note that visa sponsorship is not guaranteed and is assessed on a case-by-case basis, depending on role criticality and project needs. Many of our UK projects require high-level security clearance, meaning we can often only consider candidates with an existing, indefinite right to work in the UK. Exceptionally, we may consider visa sponsorship for applicants with niche experience aligned to our core work (e.g. EPR/nuclear new build).

Remuneration & Benefits: We offer a competitive salary tailored to your experience and background. Whether you're earlier in your career or bring more senior-level expertise, we encourage you to apply if this role aligns with your skills, or if you're open to discussing other opportunities within this discipline. We also offer a benefits package, both standard and enhanced, which is designed to support your wellbeing, development, and financial future, including:

  • 25 Days Annual Leave + Bank Holidays, with the ability to swap bank holidays for cultural or religious celebrations.
  • Matched Pension Scheme.
  • Enhanced Maternity, Paternity, Adoption and Neonatal Care Leave.
  • Employee Referral Scheme.
  • Private Medical & Dental Insurance.
  • Electric Vehicle Scheme.
  • Cycle to Work Scheme.
  • Training & Development, including additional qualifications and accreditations relevant to your role.
  • Travel Insurance – for both business and personal travel.
  • Employee Assistance Programme.
