About Vulcain Engineering: Vulcain Engineering, an international engineering consultancy, supports global industrial leaders in their transition to a more responsible and sustainable future. We support our customers in the design, construction, commissioning and operation of their complex infrastructure projects that will shape the world of tomorrow. With operations in 17 countries and employing over 6,000 staff worldwide, our business responds to the needs of our clients by delivering high-value engineering expertise tailored to our clients' most complex challenges. In the UK, we have a key focus in the Nuclear sector, contributing to ground breaking projects, such as Hinkley Point C (HPC).

The Position: Due to continued business growth and our advancing project portfolio, Vulcain Engineering UK are seeking to expand our technical team within the Electrical Engineering discipline. We are looking to hire Electrical Engineers across both experienced and senior levels, to join us on a permanent basis and to play an integral part in UK nuclear new build infrastructure.

The scope of these positions, whilst differing slightly in depending on area and seniority, will be to provide client-side representation for the management of all electrical documentation, reviewing models, and validating design changes. You'll work closely with multi-disciplinary teams and a wide range of stakeholders to ensure design compliance and successful delivery across complex nuclear programmes.

Some of the main responsibilities of the Electrical Engineer & Senior Engineer will include:

  • Taking responsibility for electrical deliverables within the client design offices on UK nuclear new build projects
  • Reviewing and managing engineering documentation, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and proper traceability
  • Checking drawings and reviewing the 3D plant model, raising and validating design changes where required
  • Coordinating with vendors and suppliers on the technical and contractual aspects of electrical equipment
  • Supporting contract execution and ensuring alignment with scope, schedule, and budget requirements
  • Providing technical input and support to site-based activities when needed
  • Building strong working relationships with client stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery

Preferred Profile: Alongside a commitment to our values of Care & Compassion, Performance, Team Spirit, and Inclusiveness, we are looking for individuals who can bring the following:

  • Degree-qualified (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
  • Experience in the design, coordination, or review of electrical systems within large-scale infrastructure or industrial projects
  • Familiarity with reviewing technical documentation, drawings, and 3D models
  • Knowledge of electrical equipment specifications and vendor/supplier coordination
  • Experience supporting contract management for electrical equipment (such as cabling, cabinets, or distribution systems), including coordination with vendors and suppliers
  • Ability or interest in managing scope, schedule, and cost within an engineering project context
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team and interface with stakeholders
  • Chartered, or desire to work towards professional chartership, with support available to progress further
  • Reside locally to Bristol or be prepared to relocate, as this permanent role does not include travel expense coverage.

In this role you'll be joining a team at the heart of the UK's nuclear new build programme, working directly in the design office and gaining experience that few projects can offer. We'll support you with clear progression routes, including structured pathways towards professional chartership, so you can continue to grow your expertise while contributing to one of Europe's most complex engineering challenges. As our UK electrical engineering capability expands, you'll have the chance to take on increasing responsibility, develop specialist knowledge, and build a long-term career with a consultancy that values technical excellence and professional development.

Please note that visa sponsorship is not guaranteed and is assessed on a case-by-case basis, depending on role criticality and project needs. Many of our UK projects require high-level security clearance, meaning we can often only consider candidates with an existing, indefinite right to work in the UK. Exceptionally, we may consider visa sponsorship for applicants with niche experience aligned to our core work (e.g. EPR/nuclear new build).

Remuneration & Benefits: We offer a competitive salary tailored to your experience and background. Whether you're earlier in your career or bring more senior-level expertise, we encourage you to apply if this role aligns with your skills, or if you're open to discussing other opportunities within this discipline. We also offer a benefits package, both standard and enhanced, which is designed to support your wellbeing, development, and financial future, including:

  • 25 Days Annual Leave + Bank Holidays, with the ability to swap bank holidays for cultural or religious celebrations
  • Matched Pension Scheme
  • Enhanced Maternity, Paternity, Adoption and Neonatal Care Leave
  • Employee Referral Scheme
  • Private Medical & Dental Insurance
  • Electric Vehicle Scheme
  • Cycle to Work Scheme
  • Training & Development, including additional qualifications and accreditations relevant to your role
  • Travel Insurance – for both business and personal travel
  • Employee Assistance Programme
