The Project Controls Manager will be part of the Integrated Project Controls team. The team acts as a centre of excellence for project controls implementation, providing a single source of delivery performance information. It operates across a matrix organisation, currently supporting major civil works packages.

The Project Controls Manager provides analysis of projects and programmes using available data from cost, scheduling/planning and risk and opportunities for internal and client projects. The purpose of the role is to be responsible for managing and controlling the progress of projects or programmes using appropriate tools to analyse the performance of the project/programme. The role will use tools such as Primavera P6, EcoSys, ARM, and other project controls software.

Some of the main responsibilities of the Project Controls Manager will include:

  • Develop, manage and update project and programme plans including full costing, development of WBSs, resource management, cost management of risk and critical path review, using appropriate software and tools.
  • Manage the change control as the project/programme scope changes, using the correct processes and updating the necessary configuration documentation.
  • Understand the need for project baseline control and different types of baseline change.
  • Understand the tools assess project performance and quality against the baseline schedule.
  • Understand risk and opportunities and integrate the cost of these strategies effectively into the plan/schedule.
  • Understand project control methodologies and processes for programme and project management.
  • Production of monthly reports.
  • Maintain an understanding of all current codes of practice.

  • Experience working as a Project Controls Manager on major infrastructure, energy or highly regulated projects across the full project lifecycle.
  • Demonstrable experience in engineering or construction projects - in particular on large scale and complex civil packages.
  • Minimum of HND in Management, Economics, Engineering, Construction, Quantity Surveying or another relevant subject.
  • Degree in Engineering, Project Management, Economics or another related field.
  • Project management/project controls qualifications e.g. APM.
  • Chartership status through a recognised international body.
  • Reside locally to London or be prepared to relocate, as this permanent role does not include travel expense coverage.

Many of our UK projects require high-level security clearance, meaning we can often only consider candidates with an existing, indefinite right to work in the UK.
