About Vulcain Engineering

Vulcain Engineering is a global engineering consultancy supporting major energy and infrastructure programmes across the United Kingdom and internationally. We embed our people directly into client projects, providing engineering, construction, safety, and operational expertise across the full project lifecycle.

As offshore wind development continues to expand, Vulcain Engineering is supporting critical onshore preparation activities that ensure offshore installation works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

The Position:

Vulcain Engineering is recruiting Onshore Pre‑Assembly Supervisors to support offshore wind turbine projects from a dedicated onshore logistics and pre‑assembly hub in Scotland. Working at the interface between engineering, quality, and operations, the Pre‑Assembly Supervisor plays a key role in overseeing the preparation and assembly of wind turbine components prior to offshore installation. This role is well suited to experienced engineers or senior technicians with offshore wind experience who are comfortable supervising teams and working with technical documentation and quality processes.

Some of the main responsibilities of the Onshore Pre-Assembly Supervisor will include:

  • Supervising pre‑assembly and preparation activities for wind turbine components within an onshore logistics hub
  • Leading and coordinating teams of technicians involved in turbine pre‑assembly and preparation works
  • Ensuring all assemblies meet technical specifications, quality standards, and project requirements
  • Reviewing and working in accordance with technical documentation, drawings, and work instructions
  • Verifying compliance and identifying defects or non‑conformances prior to offshore mobilisations
  • Supporting planning and scheduling activities to ensure equipment is prepared in line with vessel and installation timelines
  • Coordinating closely with logistics, engineering, and quality teams to resolve technical or operational issues
  • Maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and efficiency across all onshore activities

This role offers the opportunity to work at the heart of offshore wind turbine preparation, supporting high‑profile renewable energy projects while benefiting from Vulcain Engineering’s long‑term project pipeline, professional support, and structured rotations. Accommodation and travel support are provided due to the remote location of the logistics hub.

Preferred Profile:

Alongside a commitment to our values of Care & Compassion, Performance, Team Spirit, and Inclusiveness, we are looking for individuals who can bring the following:

  • Proven experience within offshore wind, wind turbine installation, or wind turbine pre‑assembly environments
  • Engineering or senior technician background with experience supervising technical teams
  • Strong understanding of wind turbine components and assembly processes
  • Experience working with technical documentation, quality checks, and compliance processes
  • Ability to plan, coordinate, and supervise work within tight schedules
  • Comfortable working a 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off rotation
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to problem solving
  • Right to work in the United Kingdom

Whats in it for you?

  • Competitive salary based on experience
  • Accommodation and travel support for remote onshore locations
  • Long‑term opportunities across offshore wind projects and the broader Vulcain energy project portfolio
  • A collaborative, inclusive, and safety‑focused working environment
