Vulcain Engineering UK are seeking a Project Planner to join our PMO division, who are providing the client-side professional services for pioneer nuclear new build projects such as HPC & SZC.

Some of the main responsibilities of the Project Planner will include:

  • Develop, integrate, and maintain detailed construction schedules in Primavera 6 (P6).
  • Ensure the schedules are updated when required to reflect work progress and performance, to an agreed timeframe defined by the Central Controls Team.
  • Collaborate with site teams and contractors, contributing to 16-week lookaheads, 4D planning, and schedule performance tracking.
  • Create fully logic-linked work plans aligned to the Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and utilising approved construction techniques.
  • Assist in the Trend & Change process, including analysis of schedule impact, generating performance indicators and providing feedback on areas of risk and opportunities.
  • Ensure that contractor schedules are produced in accordance with processes and ensure that they align to the forecast position.
  • Co-ordinate and produce schedule reports to a defined reporting cycle.

This is a hands-on, site-based role requiring close collaboration with construction, planning, and logistics teams. It’s an opportunity for you to be an integral part of some of Europe’s largest infrastructure projects in decades – contributing to the UK’s future low-carbon ambitions. The Construction Planner will work in a high-performance culture alongside industry leaders, whilst gaining exposure to innovative tools like 4D/5D planning.

Preferred Profile:

  • Demonstratable experience in engineering or construction planning - in particular on large scale and complex civil packages, during the construction phases.
  • Industry exposure across Nuclear or another highly regulated heavy industry, such as; Oil and Gas, Downstream, Petrochemical or Pharmaceutical.
  • Knowledge of EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) project environments and integrated planning - preferably throughout the full project lifecycle (inception, pre-FEED, FEED, construction, commissioning).
  • Expert knowledge of Primavera P6 schedule development and progress monitoring.
  • Understanding of site safety culture, and ideally nuclear/conventional safety principles.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate costs/data in a well-structured manner.
  • Confident managing a multitude of stakeholders, including senior leadership, both internally and externally, as well as the ability to challenge and consult when required.
