We provide the flexibility our clients demand by working at our customers’ sites in the UK and Europe as well as carrying out work remotely on their behalf. We are dedicated to providing the highest level of organisational support to key projects. Vulcain Engineering was founded in the mid-2000s to specialise in energy and environment projects. Our knowledge of the energy and environment sector means we can support our customers at all stages of the engineering-procurement-construction-commissioning (EPCC) project lifecycle. With operations in 16 countries and employing over 6,000 staff worldwide, our business responds to the needs of our clients by delivering expertise in the form of high added value engineering services.
The Information Manager is responsible for championing ISO 19650 principles and ensuring consistent digital definition across nuclear programmes and their supply chains. You will lead the development, alignment, and adoption of information management standards, including Exchange Information Requirements (EIRs) and other ISO 19650‑related deliverables. Working across multiple project workstreams, you will help embed robust information management practices, ensuring compliance, consistency, and high‑quality information exchange throughout the lifecycle of major nuclear projects.
Some of the main responsibilities of the Information Manager will include:
- Operate effectively within a complex, multi‑disciplinary matrix organisation.
- Communicate and collaborate closely with project teams, supply chain partners, SMEs, client interfaces, and IT functions.
- Act as a recognised expert and advisor on all aspects of Information Management.
- Drive alignment between information management workstreams and wider programme requirements.
- Collaborate with peers across alliances, delivery partners, and client organisations to ensure consistent application of information management principles.
- Support the development, communication, and adoption of information management protocols and best practice across project teams.
- Ensure information requirements and associated documentation are clearly defined, understood, and adhered to.
- Promote a culture of high‑quality information delivery and continuous improvement.
Alongside a commitment to our values of Care & Compassion, Performance, Team Spirit, and Inclusiveness, we are looking for individuals who can bring the following:
- Experience in information management within capital, construction, or major infrastructure projects.
- Strong technical knowledge of information management protocols and best practice aligned to BS1192 / ISO 19650.
- Familiarity with information requirements documentation and BIM deliverables such as EIRs and MIDPs.
- Ability to drive adoption of information management standards and new ways of working across diverse teams.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, particularly when engaging with BIM and information managers, suppliers, and project stakeholders.
- Information Management certification (BSI or BRE).
- Experience with systems such as Teamcenter, Asite, ProjectWise, or MIDP management tools would be beneficial but not required.
- Reside locally to Bristol or be prepared to relocate, as this permanent role does not include travel expense coverage.
Please note that visa sponsorship is not guaranteed and is assessed on a case-by-case basis, depending on role criticality and project needs. Many of our UK projects require high-level security clearance, meaning we can often only consider candidates with an existing, indefinite right to work in the UK. Exceptionally, we may consider visa sponsorship for applicants with niche experience aligned to our core work (e.g. EPR/nuclear new build).
