In the UK, we have a key focus in the Nuclear sector, contributing to ground breaking projects, such as Hinkley Point C (HPC).
The Position:
As a Electrical Technical Lead, you'll lead on the design, development and review of the cable routing network across the HPC project, ensuring compliance with UK cabling standard and nuclear regulations. You'll ensure cable routing activities are delivered safely, compliantly, and in line with project milestones, standards, and regulatory requirements.
Some of the main responsibilities of the Electrical Technical Lead will include:
- Lead and coordinate cable routing design activities across the project, ensuring alignment with programme objectives and delivery milestones.
- Define and implement the cable routing strategy, standards, and design approach for the full project scope.
- Act as the technical authority for cable routing, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, standards, and safety requirements.
- Manage and resolve routing constraints, including design changes, technical open points, 3D model maturity, and interface issues.
- Coordinate interfaces with layout, electrical, I&C, civil, structural, procurement, and construction teams.
- Review and approve routing deliverables, ensuring accuracy, quality, and constructability.
- Ensure routing activities are based on validated and up-to-date input data, including engineering rules, specifications, and supplier information.
- Establish and maintain progress tracking, reporting, and risk management for routing activities.
- Support governance forums and design reviews, providing clear technical recommendations.
- Mentor and support cable routing engineers, promoting best practice and continuous improvement.
Preferred Profile:
Alongside a commitment to our values of Care & Compassion, Performance, Team Spirit, and Inclusiveness, we are looking for individuals who can bring the following:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, I&C, or a related discipline.
- Significant experience in cable routing design on large-scale industrial, infrastructure, or energy projects.
- Strong knowledge of cable routing principles, segregation rules, tray filling, safety functions, and lifecycle margins.
- Experience working with 3D design and routing tools (e.g. PDMS/E3D, AutoCAD, Navisworks or equivalent).
- Proven ability to lead technical teams and manage multidisciplinary interfaces.
- Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and decision-making skills.
- Knowledge of RCC-E electrical regulations and relevant standards (NFC 15-100, NF C 13-200, BS 7671, IEC 60909).
- Experience in regulated environments (nuclear, oil & gas, rail, or power) is highly desirable.
- Reside locally to Bristol or be prepared to relocate, as this permanent role does not include travel expense coverage.
Please note that visa sponsorship is not guaranteed and is assessed on a case-by-case basis, depending on role criticality and project needs. Many of our UK projects require high-level security clearance, meaning we can often only consider candidates with an existing, indefinite right to work in the UK. Exceptionally, we may consider visa sponsorship for applicants with niche experience aligned to our core work (e.g. EPR/nuclear new build).
