In the UK, we have a key focus in the Nuclear sector, contributing to ground breaking projects, such as Hinkley Point C (HPC).
The Data Analyst sits within the information management team working on HPC. Acting as the central link between business stakeholders, data architects, and technical delivery teams. Will be a primary point of contact for the business, helping to translate both strategic and technical requirements into actionable insights and use data to support informed decision-making and influence future changes.
Some of the main responsibilities of the Data Analyst will include:
- Analyse business problems and opportunities, capturing clear requirements.
- Research and document how the business operates across people, processes, information, and systems, translating insights for data architects and technical teams.
- Understand high-level solution architecture and its alignment with business objectives, ensuring data products support monitoring of safety, quality, time, and cost.
- Identify gaps in people, processes, information, and systems, with a focus on data required for analytics platforms.
- Apply data analysis and visualisation techniques to assess the feasibility and value of proposed data products.
- Develop investment cases to support the delivery of data products that meet stakeholder needs.
- Ensure data products align with stakeholder requirements and organisational goals.
- Use agile delivery practices and Azure DevOps to manage user stories, tasks, dependencies, and issues in line with team delivery frameworks.
- Escalate identified issues in operating models or data products to the Information Design Authority for review and resolution.
Preferred Profile:

- Degree-level qualification or equivalent experience in a relevant discipline (e.g. Business, Data/Analytics, Engineering, Computer Science, Economics, or similar).
- Working knowledge of SQL to query datasets, validate transformations, and troubleshoot basic data issues.
- Ability to read and interpret Python used for analytics or data processing, with the capability to modify simple scripts if required.
- Proven experience leading requirements definition, process mapping, and problem framing within data-led programmes or transformations.
- Experience working with multidisciplinary teams (data, engineering, digital, operations) to translate business needs into clear, testable requirements for data products and analytical solutions.
- Demonstrated end-to-end analytical experience, including data discovery, profiling, validation, transformation, analysis, and insight communication.
- Experience defining data quality rules, understanding data lineage, and contributing to basic data modelling in collaboration with data engineers and architects.
- Previous experience working in nuclear or highly regulated environments is desirable but not essential.
- Reside locally to Bridgwater or be prepared to relocate, as this permanent role does not include travel expense coverage.
