Job Summary

Vulcain Engineering UK is looking for a Construction Delivery Manager to join our growing team. You will play a key role in supporting construction activities across major nuclear and infrastructure projects, and will directly support a variety of high-profile, high-value nuclear new build projects, offering a unique opportunity to grow your career on some of the UK’s most significant infrastructure programmes in decades.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as a subject matter expert in their field of expertise.
  • Manages a team of direct reports, providing line management, training, guidance, and ongoing development.
  • Oversees delivery of the programme, ensuring safety, quality, scheduling, and cost objectives are met.
  • Identifies risks or issues and implements mitigation measures.
  • Ensures that health, safety, and environmental best practices are applied to all construction activities.
  • Manage contract partners with the delivery of their work packages, helping to keep construction activities moving safely and efficiently.
  • Conducts and records safety and assurance inspections, reporting outcomes in line with project requirements.
  • Leads or supports regular construction meetings with contractors to review progress, risks, and issues.
  • Provides support to contractors in delivering their scope of work and ensures effective contract management.
  • Provides input into weekly and monthly reporting, ensuring accurate reflection of safety, environmental, quality, and schedule performance.

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree (or equivalent) in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or construction.
  • Strong experience in planning, sequencing, resource allocation, and recovery planning for large construction projects.
  • Good understanding of commercial principles relevant to construction delivery.
  • Significant experience in managing delivery of large, complex mechanical and electrical construction projects.
  • Working knowledge of health and safety regulations in construction.
  • Ability to deliver results under pressure and manage multiple stakeholders effectively.
  • Recognised health and safety qualification (such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent).
