We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Engineer to join a major nuclear construction project in Somerset. This role sits at the heart of project delivery, ensuring that construction and commissioning activities are fully coordinated, sequenced effectively, and delivered safely and on schedule.

You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, helping to optimise interfaces between engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning to support efficient project execution.

Some of the main responsibilities of the Senior Project Engineer will include:

  • Develop and maintain integrated installation and commissioning sequences across multiple contracts
  • Coordinate interfaces between construction, installation, and commissioning teams to ensure smooth delivery
  • Identify risks, constraints, and dependencies, and implement solutions to minimise disruption
  • Collaborate with planning teams to ensure project milestones are achievable and clearly reflected in schedules
  • Analyse project data and present clear insights to support decision-making
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure all planning activities prioritise safe delivery
  • Engage with stakeholders across engineering, supply chain, and delivery teams to drive a “best for project” approach

Requirements:

  • Degree in Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience)
  • Proven experience delivering large, complex construction projects (typically 10+ years)
  • Strong understanding of construction and commissioning processes and their integration
  • Experience developing construction sequences and managing project interfaces
  • Ability to identify and resolve complex technical and planning challenges
  • Familiarity with planning tools and digital construction models is advantageous

Reside locally to Somerset or be prepared to relocate, as this permanent role does not include travel expense coverage. Please note that visa sponsorship is not guaranteed and is assessed on a case-by-case basis, depending on role criticality and project needs. Many of our UK projects require high-level security clearance, meaning we can often only consider candidates with an existing, indefinite right to work in the UK.
