The Position: Power BI Developer (Nuclear)
The Power BI Developer acts as the central link between business stakeholders, and technical delivery teams working on Hinkley Point C (HPC). Will be a primary point of contact for the business, producing Power BI dashboards to help deliver clear insights to the leadership team, helping to support continuous improvement. Act as a Power BI SME, helping to train and support end user on dashboards and reporting tools.
Some of the main responsibilities of the Power BI Developer will include:
- Develop, maintain, and enhance Power BI dashboards and data models to support Quality performance monitoring and informed project decision-making.
- Produce weekly, monthly, and quarterly performance reports that deliver clear, actionable insights to Quality Leadership.
- Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and validation of all Quality data, guaranteeing alignment with actual project progress and performance.
- Lead the analysis, interpretation, and presentation of complex datasets across multiple Quality reporting disciplines.
- Identify trends, anomalies, and root causes, supporting the development and implementation of improvement action plans in collaboration with Quality and Continuous Improvement teams.
- Partner with IT, data engineering, and cross-functional project teams to optimise data pipelines, reporting systems, and overall reporting infrastructure.
- Review and continuously improve reporting processes to ensure alignment with governance standards, data policies, and best practices.
- Provide training and support to stakeholders and end users on Power BI dashboards and reporting tools to maximise adoption and effectiveness.
Preferred Profile:

- Advanced expertise in Microsoft Power BI, including DAX, Power Query (M), data modelling, and report development and publishing.
- Strong knowledge of ETL processes, data transformation techniques, and database structures, including tables, schemas, and relational models.
- Excellent analytical and numerical skills, with the ability to interpret complex datasets and translate findings into clear, actionable insights.
- Demonstrated experience gathering stakeholder requirements, defining reporting needs, and delivering high-quality management information.
- Confident in challenging performance variances, influencing positive behavioural change, and contributing to strategic decision-making discussions.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Access
- Experience working in a Quality Monitoring, Project Controls or PMO environment on a major project would be beneficial but not required.
- Reside locally to Bridgwater or be prepared to relocate, as this permanent role does not include travel expense coverage.
