Vulcain Engineering UK are seeking a Project Manager to join our PMO division, who are providing the client-side professional services across pioneer nuclear new build projects such as Hinkley Point C (HPC) and Sizewell C (SZC). This is a delivery position with full end-to-end accountability for civil contracts or work packages within the programmes. Holds responsibility for safe, compliant execution across engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning in a highly regulated nuclear environment.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for full lifecycle delivery of civil contracts or work packages, meeting time, cost, quality, and safety objectives
  • Define scope, set strategy, and manage key programme interfaces
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams, including matrixed resources
  • Own and manage Level 3 and Level 4 schedules, aligned with the overall project plan
  • Control cost, risk, and change through Earned Value Management principles
  • Administer NEC and FIDIC contracts, including claims management and close-out
  • Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships across contractors, subcontractors and site teams
  • Ensure strict adherence to nuclear safety, quality standards, and CDM requirements

Preferred Profile

  • Civil Engineering background proven delivery of civil EPC/EPCM scopes in regulated environments, with accountability for major contracts
  • End-to-end experience across design, manufacture, construction, and commissioning
  • Leadership of multidisciplinary teams under pressure, with clear ownership and decision-making
  • Confident in managing contractor performance and driving improvement where needed
  • Solid application of earned value, risk management, and change control
  • Experience administering NEC and/or FIDIC contracts, including claims, negotiation, and resolution
  • Full budget responsibility, not just performance reporting
  • Background in nuclear, energy, infrastructure, or similarly regulated sectors
  • Good understanding of nuclear quality standards and graded approach to quality
  • Knowledge of CDM regulations and experience in a principal contractor environment
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, compliance, and high-quality delivery
  • Civil Engineering experience within nuclear/highly regulated projects is highly desirable
