The Position: Logistics Engineer
Vulcain Engineering UK are seeking an experienced Logistics Engineer to support the delivery of a largescale nuclear decommissioning programme, ensuring the safe and efficient movement of materials and equipment across a highly complex project environment.
This role will support the delivery of logistics activities across a complex engineering environment, ensuring that materials, equipment, and waste movements are well‑planned, compliant, and aligned with project needs.
You will act as a key coordination point across multiple worksites, providing practical guidance and ensuring logistics processes run safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
- Some of the main responsibilities of the Logistics Engineer will include:
- Plan, coordinate, and monitor logistics activities across assigned project areas.
- Act as the primary point of contact for worksite‑based logistics requirements.
- Provide expert advice on safe and compliant movement of materials and equipment.
- Develop efficient transport routes and movement plans to support project progress.
- Support inventory, equipment transfer, and on‑site workflow processes.
- Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and project teams to ensure smooth operations.
- Provide clear documentation and communication to support logistics planning.
- Contribute to progress meetings and provide updates on logistics‑related matters.

- Background in logistics, engineering, operations, or a similar technical field.
- Strong organisational and planning skills across multi‑site or complex environments.
- Experience supervising works on high‑hazard industrial sites (nuclear decommissioning desirable).
- Understanding of safety, environmental, or compliance requirements affecting logistics.
- Proficiency with scheduling tools, inventory systems, or logistics software.
- Strong communication skills for coordination across diverse teams.
- Ability to problem‑solve and support safe, efficient movement of people and materials.
- Experience with site‑based logistics challenges such as access, routing, and scheduling.
