Procurement / Supply Chain Business Partner (Hull)

Make supply chain decisions that genuinely move the needle.

At Vuba Stone, we’re building a high-performing supply chain that keeps quality at its core and service levels consistently high—while continually improving how we plan, buy, and deliver.

Based in Hull, this is a role for someone who enjoys connecting strategy with everyday execution.

You’ll work as a true business partner across procurement and supply chain—turning commercial goals into robust sourcing plans, strengthening supplier performance, and ensuring our customers receive the right product, at the right time, with confidence.

  • What you’ll be doing
  • Partner with stakeholders to understand demand, operational priorities, and commercial objectives—translating these into procurement and supply chain plans.
  • Own end-to-end supplier activities for assigned categories/products: from sourcing strategies and supplier onboarding through to ongoing performance management.
  • Drive continuous improvement across procurement processes—seeking efficiencies in cost, lead times, service, and quality.
  • Develop and deliver sourcing strategies that balance total cost of ownership, resilience, quality requirements, and risk.
  • Manage supplier performance using clear metrics and structured reviews—addressing issues early and working collaboratively to improve.
  • Support planning and forecast alignment by feeding insight back into demand planning, inventory decisions, and purchasing schedules.
  • Collaborate on risk management by identifying supply risks, escalating concerns, and recommending mitigating actions.
  • Negotiate confidently with suppliers—securing commercial terms, service commitments, and improvement plans.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure procurement governance is followed, including spend visibility and compliance requirements.
  • What we’re looking for
  • You’re a procurement and supply chain professional who enjoys working with people—bringing calm structure to complex situations.
  • You can demonstrate experience in sourcing, supplier management, and stakeholder engagement—with the confidence to challenge where needed.
  • You understand the practical impact of procurement decisions: lead times, stock levels, quality, and service.
  • You’re proactive about cost reduction and value creation, but you do it responsibly—protecting quality and reliability.
  • You have strong analytical skills: able to interpret data, spot trends, and turn findings into action.
  • You communicate clearly and professionally—whether you’re presenting improvement plans to internal teams or aligning expectations with suppliers.
  • You’re comfortable working in a fast-moving environment and can manage priorities effectively.
  • Why you’ll enjoy this role
  • You’ll partner across the business: this isn’t procurement in isolation. You’ll influence decisions that affect availability, customer experience, and operational performance.
  • Your work will be visible: you’ll see the impact of improved planning, better supplier outcomes, and smarter sourcing on day-to-day delivery.
  • Continuous improvement is part of the job: you’ll actively shape how we buy and how we work with suppliers—always looking for better ways.
  • Hull-based, team-led environment: you’ll be part of a culture where high standards, ownership, and collaboration matter.
  • How to succeed in your application

Show us how you’ve delivered value through procurement and supply chain business partnering. We’d love to see examples of:

  • supplier performance improvements and what you changed
  • a sourcing strategy you helped develop (and results achieved)
  • a time you influenced stakeholders with data or insight
  • how you manage risk and keep supply moving confidently

Ready to partner for performance?

If you’re motivated by making supply chain outcomes better—without losing sight of people, quality, and resilience—then we’d love to hear from you.
