VTA Recruitment are currently looking for an experienced Estimator to join our client's team. Our client is a well-established commercial construction company with over 40 years of industry experience, based in Monton, Salford. They operate exclusively within the commercial sector and are trusted delivery partners on multiple frameworks, including Fire Services, Police Authorities and the North West Consortium. They work closely with the NHS, Greater Manchester Transport, Salford, Chorley and Wigan Councils, numerous architectural practices, many schools across the North West, and the Dioceses of Salford and Manchester. The work includes office refurbishments and a wide range of commercial construction projects delivered throughout the North West region.
We are looking to appoint an experienced Estimator to support our client's continued workload. The role will involve pricing commercial construction projects with values ranging from £50,000 to 2–3 million, with the majority of tenders typically between £180,000 and £500,000.
Projected start date: March 2026
Benefits:
- Salary: £45,000 – £50,000 per annum (depending on experience)
- Company car or car allowance

- Working hours: 40 hours per week (8:00am – 4:30pm Mon-Fri)
- Holiday entitlement: 21 days per annum plus all bank holidays
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparing detailed and accurate cost estimates for commercial projects
- Reviewing drawings, specifications and tender documentation
- Obtaining, analysing and comparing subcontractor and supplier quotations
- Producing full cost breakdowns and supporting tender submissions
- Liaising with internal teams, architects and clients throughout the tender process
- Demonstrating strong commercial awareness and cost control
- Maintaining clear records of estimates and quotations
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Estimator within the commercial construction sector
- Demonstrable experience pricing projects between £50,000 and £2–3 million
- Evidence of completed quotations and successful tender submissions
- Sound knowledge of construction methods, materials and pricing
- Ability to work accurately to deadlines
- Strong communication and organisational skills
