The Product Owner role is part of the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) organization. The PLM organization is responsible for defining new product features and enhancements, and for directing activities to ensure the timely development and delivery of reliable and efficient solutions to business requirements. We are seeking a highly motivated Product Owner with a strong background in Product Development Process who loves to collaborate with different teams to define the backlog and ensure the delivery of a customer centric product.
Responsibilities- Acquire and maintain a fundamental working knowledge of how our solutions are used in the real world to ensure features, functions and products are delivered with a consistent, user-friendly user experience.
- Act as Voice of the Customer internally, working closely with internal and external stakeholders to discover and analyse customer needs and shape these into requirements.
- Work with the Product Managers to translate customer features/requirements into appropriately detailed epics with clear acceptance criteria and non-functional user experience expectations.
- Work with the engineering teams to breakdown the detailed epics into executable stories to include design, implementation, documentation and testing.
- Support Development through scrum ceremony attendance and active contribution, answering questions, providing feedback and being a consistent point of reference.
- Proactively manage the Product Backlog to ensure that upcoming development priorities are suitably fleshed out with the necessary stories ahead of time so that they can be easily scoped and sized to enable early and accurate scheduling into the roadmap for communication out to the wider business.
- Manage stakeholders expectations, delivering progress updates and communicating translatable, technical updates, seeking collaborative decision making when needed, highlighting risks and providing mitigating options where required.
- Engage with stakeholders during development to demonstrate new functionality, gather feedback and expectations regarding existing, new and future developments.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience in a related career field.
- Certified Scrum Product Owner (Desirable)
- Networking and Telecommunications knowledge - 1-3 years.
- Demonstrable background in investigating, analysing and documenting clear requirements, epics, user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and experience of the full software development lifecycle are key success criteria for this role.
- Highly organised, self-disciplined with strong planning and time management skills.
- Strong stakeholder management skills.
- Drive, enthusiasm & being a team player; you will want to make a positive contribution toward the team goal.
- Satellite communications knowledge.
- Experience in Jira and Confluence.
- Experience within software engineering, especially developing with code. Must be able to understand the technical aspect of the product.
- A product owner who understands the principles of data generation and transfer, with background in Wi-Fi/telecoms (is a plus).
- A business analyst - with IT background, or understanding of networking principles.
- A solutions architect who would like to explore a new career path.
- A scrum Master with domain knowledge.
