The Accounts Specialist plays a key role in maintaining accurate and efficient financial operations across both VSE UK and VSE Germany. This position oversees the full accounts payable and receivable processes, supports monthly and quarterly financial reporting, and ensures strong financial controls through reconciliations and audit liaison. The role contributes to business insight by producing regular performance reports, KPIs, and cashflow forecasts, while also managing essential compliance activities such as VAT returns, import reconciliations, and annual stock counts. Alongside core finance responsibilities, the Accounts Specialist supports smooth day‑to‑day operations through general administrative duties.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- All aspects of Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable for both VSE UK and VSE Germany.
- Preparation and posting of the monthly & quarterly accounting journals for both VSE UK & VSE Germany.
- Preparation of monthly & quarterly accounting schedules for both VSE UK & VSE Germany.
- Reconciliation of balance sheet control accounts.
- Liaising with auditors and providing necessary data/assistance.
- Produce monthly & quarterly sales/performance data & analysis.
- Produce monthly KPIs.
- Produce weekly cashflow forecast.
- Responsible for annual stock count.
- Quarterly VAT Returns.
- Import Clearances & quarterly reconciliations.
- General office administration.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- GCSE Maths & English - Grade C or above
- AAT or qualified by experience
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
- Strong Excel skills, particularly pivot tables, formulas and data manipulation.
- Experience of different software packages.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work to deadlines.
