Join Study Mind β Make a Difference Through 1:1 SEND Tuition
Study Mind has been appointed by the London Borough of Hillingdon to deliver a new Group Tuition Alternative Provision for children and young people aged 4-18 who are currently unable to attend school. The provision will operate from January 2026 to August 2029 and will initially be based at the Whitehall Road Centre in Uxbridge, before expanding to two new purpose-built centres (North and South Hillingdon) from September 2026.
The service provides small-group, high-quality education for learners with a range of needs, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) or Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). Tuition focuses on core academic subjects (English, Maths, Science and ICT), alongside PSHE and personal development, helping pupils re-engage with learning, build confidence and prepare for reintegration into school or further education.
Each group typically includes 4-8 learners, supported by specialist staff at a 1:2 staffing ratio. Tutors and support staff will work closely with the council\βs SEND and inclusion teams to ensure all learners\β individual needs are met, in line with the SEND Code of Practice and local authority guidance.
The programme runs during the school day, Monday to Friday, and follows the Hillingdon school term calendar.
