VSA has an exciting opportunity to join our care at home team as a Support/Care Worker covering the Turriff area, Aberdeenshire. We offer Full & Part-time, Permanent & Relief positions with a competitive salary and benefits.
Hours: Between 16-39 hours
Rota: Shifts from 7am to 10pm, reviewed fortnightly. You must be able to work every second weekend. Drivers are preferred but not essential.
Location: Turriff, Aberdeenshire, caring for service users in their own homes. A driving license is beneficial but not essential.
Salary: £12.81 per hour

Purpose of Job:
To provide quality services that meet the needs of service users, following VSA standards, policies, and regulatory requirements.
Main Duties/Responsibilities:
- Communicating effectively with individuals and updating records according to guidelines.
- Ensuring a safe environment by following health, safety, and security procedures, including medication management, and reporting incidents.
- Supporting service users with daily living activities, personal care, and promoting dignity and respect.
- Helping service users develop and maintain social networks and independence skills.
- Participating in developing, implementing, and reviewing personal care plans.
- Supporting service users through significant life changes or loss.
- Continuously developing knowledge and skills through training.
- Performing additional reasonable tasks within capabilities.
- Working within internal control systems to improve service quality.
- Communicating verbally and maintaining accurate records.
- Using basic IT skills (e.g., emails).
- Problem-solving, using initiative, and organizational skills.
- Demonstrating good interpersonal skills.
Qualifications:
Willingness and ability to achieve SCQF Level 6 in Social Services and Healthcare (or equivalent) within 3 years of appointment or as determined by VSA.
