We are working in partnership with a global pharmaceutical organisation to recruit a Senior or Principal Research Scientist with strong Flow Cytometry expertise for a newly forming Translational Research team.
This opportunity sits within the companyβs Early Clinical Development & Translational Sciences function, working closely with an established Biomarker Assay Sciences group. The team supports the progression of innovative therapeutic assets β including gene therapies β from research through to early clinical development.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced scientist to play a key role in shaping a new translational capability, while gaining broad exposure across the drug discovery and development pipeline in a highly collaborative environment.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver fit-for-purpose Flow Cytometry assays to support pre-clinical and clinical studies
- Plan, design, execute and interpret experiments, delivering high-quality, robust data
- Act as a Flow Cytometry subject matter expert, working with internal stakeholders and external CROs to share results and drive project completion
- Develop an understanding of the underlying biology and communicate this during multi-disciplinary project meetings
- Present and discuss data within multi-disciplinary project teams
- Manage workload to meet project and portfolio timelines
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations and HTA requirements
Candidate profile:
- Strong hands-on expertise in Flow Cytometry assay development, validation and data analysis
- Background in immunology and experience supporting pre-clinical to clinical programmes is highly desirable
- Confident using Flow Cytometry software such as FlowJo, BD Diva, FCS Express
- Well organised, detail-focused and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced lab environment
- Confident in communicating complex scientific ideas and data to others
Desirable experience:
- Broader bioanalytical techniques (e.g. LBA, LC-MS, IHC, omics, exosomes)
- Experience mentoring or managing junior scientists
- Oversight of wider bioanalytical activities within project teams
The role is offered on an initial 12-month contract with realistic potential for extension and permanent opportunities.
