Overview
VRS UK is seeking an experienced and innovative R&D Engineer to join their Sheffield-based team. The role focuses on designing and developing electronic hardware and embedded firmware for radiation detection instruments, taking projects from concept through to completion while meeting technical specifications, quality standards, and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop innovative electronic hardware and embedded firmware solutions
- Collaborate with product specialists to define technical requirements and deliver robust systems
- Prototype and test electronic circuits, ensuring performance and regulatory compliance
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers within the team
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution
Qualifications
- Degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Embedded Systems, or Physics
- Hands-on experience in electronic design and development, both analogue and digital
- Proficient in embedded programming (C or similar)
- Experience using schematic capture and layout design tools, as well as simulation and test equipment
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively across disciplines
