Our client is a global provider of scientific solutions, helping laboratories around the world enable advancements in many areas such as pharmaceutical, food, environmental and healthcare. We are looking for a Remote Service Engineer to join their team providing first line technical support to customers across the UK & Europe.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Provide first point of contact for HPLC, GC-MS instrument repairs, resolving issues via telephone and video call
- For any escalated issues you will work closely with the Field Service team helping to organise site visits and bringing them up to speed on the instrument issues
- Travel on-site with the Field Service teams for installations and training
- Identify areas for process / product improvement
To be considered for this position you will have/be:
- BSc, MSc in a relevant Scientific field
- Experience troubleshooting & maintaining complex scientific instrumentation
- Knowledge of HPLC, GC, MS instruments and associated software
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a scientific or field service environment
- Comfortable with occasional travel (~20%)
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well with customers in challenging situations
