Our client is an innovative and rapidly growing organisation operating at the intersection of biology, automation, and data science, focused on advancing large-scale proteomics to generate actionable biological insights. To support the growth of their high-performance team, we’re seeking an LC-MS Proteomics Scientist to join their operations in Glasgow. In this position, you will play a key operational role in ensuring smooth day-to-day running of the proteomics laboratory. You will maintain instrument performance, perform Proteomics methods, and help drive efficiency through automation and optimisation.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Execute and support proteomics experiments focused on biomarker discovery and validation
- Develop and optimise LC-MS/MS workflows using advanced techniques (DIA / PRM)
- Maintain and troubleshoot Thermo Orbitrap Mass Spectrometry systems
- Integrate automation and liquid handling to improve throughput
- Collaborate closely with scientists, chemists and data teams to support project delivery
- Contribute to technical documentation, reporting and scientific outputs
Key Requirements:
- BSc, MSc or PhD in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology or related discipline
- Minimum 3 years’ experience using LC-MS/MS in Proteomics
- Hands-on expertise with Thermo Orbitrap / Tribrid systems
- Strong troubleshooting and maintenance experience for MS instrumentation
- Experience running complete proteomic workflows from sample preparation through data acquisition
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
