A successful biopharmaceutical company is looking for a lab-based Scientist to join its Injectable Formulation Development (IFD) team within CMC Development Sciences. This group plays a key role in supporting monoclonal antibody programmes across the full development lifecycle – from early toxicology through to Phase III clinical studies. The team is also focused on advancing formulation platforms to improve stability and performance of both established and novel antibody formats.
The role involves hands-on work in the lab, contributing to formulation and analytical activities that underpin both non-clinical and clinical development. Working in a collaborative, cross-functional environment, you will support a range of projects in a fast-paced setting.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and performing experiments to support development studies
- Conducting protein and antibody analysis using techniques such as HPLC/UPLC, iCE, UV spectroscopy, DLS, CGE, rheology and particle analysis
- Supporting pre-formulation and formulation activities, including lab set-up and technical resourcing
- Writing protocols, reports and supporting documentation
- Interpreting and presenting data to internal stakeholders
Candidate profile:
- MSc or PhD in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Biology or a related field
- At least 3 years’ laboratory experience in a relevant setting
- Strong experience in protein/antibody characterisation (e.g. HPLC/UPLC, iCE, UV, DLS, CGE, rheology, MFI)
- Experience in formulation development and/or automation (advantageous)
The role is offered on an initial 12-month contract with realistic potential for extension.
