Job Description

We are working with a leading pharmaceutical research facility that supports drug discovery programs from Target ID through to clinical candidacy. You will be responsible for designing and improving assays that will play a key part in drug discovery programs leveraging your specialist knowledge in biochemical assays.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop and perform a range of biochemical assays to support drug discovery projects across hit ID, validation and lead optimisation for a variety of target classes
  • Evaluate and assimilate experimental data that supports decision making in drug discovery process
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive drug discovery projects forward
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of scientific advancements within the biochemical assay space with a view to implement these cutting-edge technologies at the company

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Min. BSc Biochemistry or related subject
  • Proven industry experience of developing and executing biochemical assays specifically with fluorescence readouts
  • Strong understanding of enzyme kinetics & binding and applying this knowledge to biochemical assay development
  • Excellent communication skills
