Biopharmaceuticals are continuing to grow in popularity, with more compounds reaching clinical trials and regulatory approval. During biopharmaceutical research and development, an important step is the accurate determination of structure & function of these protein compounds. A key technique used in this process is LC-MS, along with a multitude of specialised mass spec assays like HDX.
In this role, you will be responsible for the characterisation of proteins to elucidate their structure, function, and degradation pathways. Utilising an impressive suite of LC-MS instrumentation inc. Orbitraps, QTOFs and other high resolution instruments, you will design and conduct structural protein analyses along with reporting your findings to wider project teams.
Candidate Profile:
- Strong analytical chemistry background; at least 3 years experience of using LC-MS to characterise proteins in an academic or industrial setting
- Ability to develop/optimise LC-MS methods and troubleshoot LC-MS instruments
- Excellent communication skills
