A rare opportunity to join the in-house Safety Assessment team of a global speciality chemical company. We are looking for a toxicologist with a specific interest in NAM (New Approach Methodologies) – in-vitro and in-silico methods for predicting chemical hazard and safety.
You will join a team of human health and ecotoxicologists tasked with providing toxicological expertise, including up-to-date advice on NAMs, to internal stakeholders. The team’s ethos is continuous innovation, to remain at the cutting edge of hazard and safety assessment science – you will develop scientifically and personally.
Duties will include:
- Provision of toxicological product and substance specific support to internal customers with an emphasis on novel non-animal approaches to hazard and safety assessment.
- Contribution to the evolution of their approach to hazard/safety assessment to deliver to the current and future needs of their business units (i.e. use of in silico tools, read across, NAMs).
- Deliver technical input into strategic decision making of the Global Safety and Regulatory Affairs Groups.
- Participation in workshops, Trade Associations meetings, and conferences supporting alternatives to animal testing.
- Becoming a recognised contact person/expert for NAM toxicology topics.
We are looking for a junior toxicologist with a degree/higher degree in a toxicology or pharmacology related subject and ideally 1-2 years’ experience in an industrial toxicology role, assessing the safety and hazards of any chemical-based products. An interest in NAM, in-vitro and in-silico methods would be very attractive.
