The chemical industry underpins everything from life-saving medicines to everyday materials, yet large-scale process development is still slow, costly and heavily reliant on trial and error. Our client is changing things - they’re building an AI-powered platform to radically improve how chemical processes are developed and scaled. Commercial momentum is building fast and they’re now looking for their first Head of Sales.
In this consultative sales position, you will build technically led, long-term partnerships with global pharma, agrochemical and specialty chemical organisations. Initially, your key responsibilities will include:
- Building and executing account-based sales strategy with tier-1 chemical and pharma organisations
- Work closely with the CEO and Product team to understand the product, shape customer discovery and define pricing
- Design and implement scalable sales process (CRM, qualification, pipeline)
As the role scales, you will:
- Shorten enterprise sales cycles and build sustained momentum across target sectors
- Establish a repeatable, measurable sales pipeline
- Hire and mentor the first commercial team member
The company are seeking a technically fluent business developer who can translate scientific innovation into scalable business growth. You will bring:
- Strong background in chemical/process engineering – confident discussing challenges and solutions in this space
- 5+ years commercial (Sales, Business development or Account Management) experience
- A track record in complex, multi-stakeholder deals
Based in London, the role will require on-site working for the first three months to build a deep understanding of the product. After this period, a hybrid or remote working arrangement is available. In return the company are offering a senior, high-impact role with equity where you will work closely with world-class scientists and founders to shape how a new category of technology is commercialised.
