Our client is seeking an experienced refrigeration engineer to join a busy, dynamic facilities and maintenance team on a 64-acre engineering campus in Cheltenham. You will be part of a 16-person team that includes refrigeration engineers, electricians, plumbers, labourers and a gardener, supporting critical test and production facilities across the site.
Location: Cheltenham (on-site)
Duration: 12-month contract
Status: Inside IR35
Rate: negotiable on experience
Responsibilities:
- Day-to-day maintenance and management of environmental stress screening (ESS) chambers
- Fault finding and diagnostics on environmental chambers and associated systems
- Programming chambers to support product testing, including temperature, humidity and other environmental profiles
- Planning and supporting preventative and corrective maintenance activities
- Working on additional equipment such as laser wire markers, vibration systems and other specialist test equipment (full training provided)
- Ensuring all work is carried out safely and in line with relevant regulations and site procedures
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Safety-conscious approach with strong awareness of relevant regulations and best practice
- F-Gas Category 1 qualification from an accredited body such as C&G, BESA, LCL or CITB (course code 603/1917/3 / 2079-11 or equivalent)
- Proven experience working on Thermotron and Sharetree environmental stress chambers
- Electrical competency for refrigeration systems (able to work safely on live and isolated systems as required)
- Ability to work independently while managing and prioritising multiple tasks
- Strong team player, comfortable operating in a multi-discipline environment
- Good organisational and communication skills, able to liaise with engineers, technicians and managers
- Computer literate, able to use maintenance systems, email and basic office software
