As a Project Manager, you will contribute towards the cutting-edge of power distribution products within the aviation industry. You will play an integral part, ensuring we meet the delivery expectations of our customers.
Working within a small R&D team, other functions on site, and with suppliers to ensure procurement of component parts, and subsequent prototype builds are completed to schedule. Also providing project management support to the R&D team
Responsibilities
- Tracking completion of inputs from R&D team as required to specify components to procure
- Raising Purchase Requisitions for components
- Liaison with Sourcing function to confirm Purchase Order placement and tracking delivery of components to agreed lead time
- Liaison with Suppliers and gathering data from R&D team and/or Sourcing to resolve any issues arising
- Supporting prototype builds from supplied components including management and tracking Bill of materials
- General Project Management support (planning, monitoring and controlling R&D project activities)
Essential Responsibilities
- Have excellent technical problem-solving skills; to be able to assess problems thoroughly and drive logical conclusions (i.e. common-sense approach, not embarrassed to ask the \\\”obvious\\\” questions).
- Completion of required documentation (purchase requisitions, updates to Bills of Materials, etc)
- Delivery oriented and ability to identify and address root causes impacting delivery
- Have experience of working in a team environment delivering products to cost and schedule
- Working in a matrix management environment and where delivery requires support from staff across a wide range of functions
Qualifications/Experience Required
- Bachelor\’s degree in a relevant field such as Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline.
- Project Management certifications (e.g. PMP, PRINCE2 or Lean Six Sigma) are a plus but not mandatory
- 2 years+ of experience in project management, coordination, or related roles.
- Basic understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., Waterfall, Agile, Lean principles).
- IT literate and experience of industry standard tools such as Microsoft Project, Microsoft Office, Excel
- A positive attitude, initiative, pro-activeness and an enthusiasm and passion for engineering.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
