We have a great opportunity for an experienced FLT Production Operative to join our client who is a leading global paints and coatings company. The successful candidate will actively support the team to deliver production performance targets through efficient operation of the resin plant's production equipment to meet production schedules. Products will be manufactured using production equipment in compliance with defined standard operating procedures and integrated management system procedures. This is a full time temporary role working a continental rotating shift pattern, 12 hour shifts, 7am - 7pm days and 7pm - 7am nights based on their site in Birmingham.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operating process vessels, pumps and other process plant equipment;
- Drive forklift trucks;
- Following batch sheets and other company procedures;
- Identifying correct raw materials and batch numbers for batch mixing;
- Ensuring batch sheets are completed accurately;
- Weighing and measuring out raw materials required;
- Operating manufacturing equipment to ensure production of batches is carried out on time and in a safe manner;
- Packaging of hazardous finished product in accordance with packing instructions;
- Undertaking all work activity with due care and attention to Health & safety and company safety procedures;
- Ensuring that at all times both your own work and that of colleagues is carried out in a safe, controlled and efficient manner;
- Following plant housekeeping procedures;
Role Requirements:
- Minimum GCSE/O Level educational standard or equivalent
- Experience working in a manufacturing role in a COMAH IPPC chemical facility regulated by both the HSE & EA preferred but not essential.
- Position requires rotational shift working so flexible working hours is a requirement (mornings, afternoons and nights).
- Basic knowledge of production / manufacturing equipment.
- Ability to learn/use IT tools including Office and SAP.
- Physically fit.
- FLT Counterbalance license is essential.
- Willingness and ability to learn.
