We are recruiting HGV Class 1 Drivers for a well‑established automotive logistics provider based in Tamworth, B77 5PR. This is a Monday‑to‑Friday night role with consistent routes, no weekend work, and a stable schedule.
Pay Rate: £18.50 per hour. Shifts start between 21:30 and 12:30.
Key Responsibilities
- Nationwide delivery of automotive parts, including cages, pallets with engines or gearboxes (offloaded via pump truck), and light boxed items such as paper bumpers.
- Offload vehicles at delivery points, despite being pre‑loaded at the depot.
- Complete 2 to 15 drops per night depending on route.
- Routes may include destinations such as Scunthorpe, Manchester, Bolton, Exeter, Southampton, Berkshire and locations in between.
Requirements
- Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
- Maximum 6 penalty points, no DD, DR, IN or CD endorsements.
- Always wear safety boots and hi‑vis clothing.
- Physically fit and able to unload using a pump truck or manually handle smaller items.
Assessment Process
- Highway Code theory test.
- Reversing onto a bay and general yard manoeuvres.
- 45‑minute driving assessment.
- Successful candidates complete induction and onboarding paperwork on the same day.
