The Opportunity
An industry‑leading provider of biomass boiler systems and commercial energy solutions is looking to expand its Central Scotland Services & Maintenance Team. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to join a growing team, gain hands‑on experience, and develop into a fully qualified Biomass Service Engineer.
The Role
This is a field‑based, door‑to‑door role. You will travel between client sites across Glasgow and Edinburgh, supporting the daily operations of the maintenance team. A company vehicle and fuel card will be provided, making travel straightforward. Full product‑specific training will be given, so prior specialist experience is not essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out monthly visual inspections and Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) tasks on biomass heating plants
- Assist engineers with annual maintenance tasks, including boiler servicing and fuel store cleaning
- Keep fuel stores and energy centres clean, tidy, and safe
- Record all site visits using an electronic workflow management system
- Travel to multiple sites daily, including ash removal from biomass boilers (training provided)
- Maintain the Paisley office and engineer store, including stock receipt and issuing parts
Skills & Experience Required
- Clean driving licence (essential for a field‑based role)
- Previous experience in a relevant maintenance or M&E role is beneficial
- Ability to work independently and manage your daily schedule
- Logical, practical, and hands‑on approach to tasks
- Good interpersonal and verbal communication skills
- Fluency in written and spoken English
