Hours: Monday to Friday, 6:00 am – 4:00 pm

Contract Type: Ongoing – Temporary / Temp to Perm Opportunity

Pay Rate: £13.21 per hour

About The Role: Manpower is recruiting on behalf of our client, a market leader in pre‑cast concrete walling solutions. With a strong reputation for quality and innovation, they produce durable, high‑performance products used across the construction industry. We're seeking a motivated and reliable Operative to join their busy manufacturing site in Barry. Working as part of a supportive team, you’ll be involved in the full production process, including batching, screeding, working and finishing concrete, as well as demoulding products and ensuring they meet specification and quality standards. This is a hands‑on, physical role that requires attention to detail, manual dexterity, and adherence to safety protocols. Full training will be provided, with opportunities to develop your skills across multiple production areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Batch, screed, and work concrete to required standards
  • Finish concrete to achieve the correct surface quality and dimensions
  • Ensure chamfers, moulds, and tables are clean and ready for use
  • Demould castings and shutters safely and efficiently
  • Carry out quality checks to ensure all finished products meet specification
  • Follow all site safety procedures to prevent accidents and injuries
  • Work as part of a team to meet production targets and deadlines

Requirements:

  • Physically fit and comfortable with manual work, including standing, lifting, and operating machinery for extended periods
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to follow instructions
  • Team player with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn
  • Valid forklift operator certification or previous experience operating a forklift or telehandler (desirable)
  • Previous experience in production or construction is beneficial but not essential
