Manpower are currently recruiting for a Temporary Maternity Cover Shipping Coordinator on behalf of our client based in Ashford. This role is ideal for candidates with experience in logistics, export coordination, and shipping operations who are looking to join a well-established organisation and play a key role in ensuring compliant and timely delivery of export orders.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate shipping activities, including selecting transportation methods, scheduling pick-ups, and liaising with carriers to meet required shipping and delivery dates.
- Oversee the creation and verification of export shipping documents in SAP, ensuring full alignment with regulatory requirements.
- Communicate customer-specific instructions to distribution and shipping teams to guarantee timely and compliant shipment processing.
- Work closely with Quality Control to validate that materials meet conformity standards prior to dispatch.
- Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining written procedures for export transportation and documentation.
- Perform systematic checks to ensure compliance with local and international transport regulations, customs requirements, and internal company policies.
- Carry out additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Academic Background
- Vocational Diploma in Logistics
Professional Experience
- 2-3 years' experience in logistics, ideally within a manufacturing environment
- Experience in shipping operations (preferred)
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of the transportation supplier landscape
- Knowledge of local and international safety and security regulations for materials/products
- Understanding of supply chain processes and dependencies
- Basic knowledge of manufacturing/production processes
