About VRC: VRC is a full-service, independent, global valuation firm that focuses exclusively on valuation and advisory services. Since 1975, we have delivered valuation and financial opinions for M&A transactions and the financial and tax reporting requirements of Fortune 500 companies, private equity firms, and their portfolio companies.

About this role: This position conducts valuations of various securities for investment companies (hedge funds, BDCs, etc.). Such securities may include illiquid investments, like bank loans, subordinated debt, and preferred and common equity in privately-held companies, as well as structured products. Senior Associates support the Portfolio group leader both managerially and analytically, working with junior analysts to complete valuation assignments.

What you will do:

  • Conduct research on securities, competitors, industry, and capital markets, including market multiples, comparable ratios, and credit spreads.
  • Gather and document relevant data obtained through client interactions.
  • Build, modify, and utilize financial models for discounted cash flow, guideline market multiple, market transaction, and option valuations.
  • Assist junior analysts and perform valuation analyses, using judgment to determine the fair value of securities across industries based on qualitative data and proprietary valuation models.
  • Collaborate with management to build and maintain client relationships.
  • Prepare and review client reports.

What you will need:

  • 4 to 6 years of constructing and reviewing valuation and financial models.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics; coursework in valuation or financial statement analysis is a plus.
  • CFA or ASA designation, or progress towards these, is a plus.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Superior analytical capabilities.
  • Experience working with diverse teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments, prioritize tasks, and handle time-sensitive engagements.
  • Strong work ethic and flexibility to work around critical deadlines.
