We\’re working with a well-established contractor in the street lighting and highways space who are looking to bring in an Assistant Project Manager. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to step up and develop into a full Project Manager over time. You\’ll be working closely with a small, experienced team of two Project Managers, getting hands‐on exposure to live projects, and learning the ropes properly rather than being thrown in at the deep end.

The role

Supporting the delivery of street lighting and highways projects

Assisting with planning, coordination, and day-to-day project activity

Liaising with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams

Helping ensure works are delivered safely on time and within budget

What they\’re looking for

Some experience within highways, street lighting, or civil engineering

A highways qualification or relevant experience would be ideal

Someone from an electrical or groundworks background would suit this well

Previous experience as an assistant project manager or a similar role

Ambitious, organised, and keen to progress into a Project Manager role
