As the business continues to scale, we are seeking an experienced Technical Director to define, lead, and embed a clear technology strategy that supports VPZ’s long term commercial and operational goals. This is a senior leadership role with board level influence, responsible for setting the overall technology direction of the business and ensuring technology is a key enabler of growth, efficiency, and competitive advantage.
The Role
As Technical Director, you will own VPZ’s technology vision, strategy, and roadmap, working closely with the CEO, Executive Team, and Board to align technology investment with business priorities. You will provide strategic leadership across:
- Retail systems and in store technology
- Ecommerce platforms and digital customer experience
- Data, reporting, and analytics
- Infrastructure, security, and technology governance
Delivery will be achieved through strong leadership of internal teams within IT, Data and Ecommerce alongside effective management of external suppliers and technology partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and own VPZ’s enterprise wide technology strategy, ensuring it supports current operations and future growth
- Translate business strategy into a clear, prioritised technology roadmap
- Provide strategic oversight of retail, ecommerce, data, and core systems
- Collaborate with fellow Directors to ensure technology underpins commercial, operational, and customer objectives
- Lead technology investment planning, vendor strategy, and major system decisions
- Establish appropriate governance, security, resilience, and scalability
- Ensure technology delivers measurable business value and competitive advantage
- Represent technology at Executive and Board level, clearly communicating risks, opportunities, and progress
What We’re Looking For
- Proven senior technology leadership experience within retail, ecommerce, or multi site environments
- Demonstrable experience defining and delivering technology strategy at Director or equivalent level
- Strong commercial mindset with the ability to align technology to business outcomes
- Experience leading through others (Heads / Managers), rather than solely hands on delivery
- Confidence operating in fast growth, entrepreneurial organisations
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, including working with CEOs, Boards, and non technical leaders
Please ensure you apply with an up-to-date CV. Applicants must be 18 years old or above, any subsequent job offer is subject to pre-employment screening and right to work checks.
