We are a fast paced retail business looking to level up how we use our data. We generate rich operational, sales, inventory, and staffing data but currently, these insights sit in silos. We now want someone to unlock the value in that data and drive commercial outcomes that grow margin and reduce waste.
The Opportunity
We are hiring a Lead of Inventory Intelligence & Optimisation, a strategic data driven role with real operational impact. This person will be accountable for understanding stock performance across our estate and driving proactive stock movement and allocation decisions to maximise full-price sell through and minimise write offs and aged inventory.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse & monitor performance of inventory across channels, product lines, and stores.
- Build a centralised intelligence framework that connects sales, staffing, training, returns, audit, and stock data into actionable insights.
- Develop stock reallocation strategies to move inventory from slow-selling stores to high-velocity locations before markdowns or discontinuation.
- Collaborate with Buying, Retail Operations, and Finance to align inventory flows with commercial priorities.
- Define and own key performance indicators such as: Full price sell through, Stock ageing metrics, Write off reduction and Transfer efficiency.
- Build dashboards, models, and automated alerts that support decisions at pace.
Who You Are
- Strong analytical background, you read data like a language.
- Commercially minded, you think in margin & velocity, not just numbers.
- Comfortable creating frameworks that influence multi department decisions.
- Confident communicator, able to present insights to senior leaders and convince stakeholders to act.
- Experience working with BI tools (Power BI / Tableau), SQL, and advanced Excel.
- Sales, inventory, and retail performance modelling.
- Ability to build and maintain data driven decision frameworks.
- Comfortable owning an insight to action process.
- Experience in a multi location retail environment is a big bonus.
