Our scope as UK sales & service partner to several global DC manufacturers is to design, supply, install, commission, and maintain high-powered DC charging systems nationally. Our work is delivered by a team of well-trained, stocked and motivated electrical and project engineers, supported by a 24/7/365 operations team. The candidate who fulfils this role will join the engineering team that is responsible for delivering on-site services to a broad range of corporate customers. The candidate's job scope is to contribute to the successful installation, commissioning and ongoing maintenance of charging, electrical and power infrastructure projects.
The contract is on a full time, permanent basis which includes the requirement for availability to contribute outside of normal working hours to an on-call reactive rota. The position will cover the Midlands and South of England, with a preference for candidates based in areas such as Northampton, Milton Keynes, Oxford, or within a reasonable commuting distance of these locations, and who will travel to cover the Midlands and South of the country as required by the role. The standard working hours will be Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 16:30pm (with a 30-minute lunch break).
Primary Responsibilities and Duties- Responsibility for delivering planned and reactive electrical engineering services in a professional and well managed manner across Vital EV network, to include:
- Installation and/or modification of LV electrical switchgear, to include new, or replacement circuitry to supply range of electrical equipment in accordance with BS****
- Commissioning of Kempower, Alpitronic and Autel DC charging systems in accordance with OEM & NICEIC standards
- Planned preventative maintenance of DC charging systems
- Reactive attendance to multitude of EV charging locations to accurately fault find and diagnose electrical issues & fix the issues on-site utilizing rolling van stock, local supply base & critical spares allocation where applicable.
- Gain expert understanding of back-office hardware management system to enable proactive investigation into chargers & network reliability
- Ensure highest quality of workmanship is maintained in all dealings, to uphold company standards and comply with building regulations
- Support project installation teams with generator installation works
- Support electrical services business growth, making use of relevant electrical qualifications
- Support UPS services business growth, making use of relevant electrical qualifications
- Support core NICEIC electrical engineering team with testing programmes and compliance to standards
- Support the sales team with availability to attend site surveys, project planning & technical compliance review meetings with project stakeholders to ensure projects are correctly designed, procured, and installed
- Use workforce field management system JobWatch to record daily job attendances
- Offer insight into new EV charging & electrical engineering technologies to enhance company's competitive advantage
- Use experience and training to nurture and encourage Vital engineering team members to better their skill sets and contribution to company success
Essential skills and experience:
- Minimum Level 3 NVQ Electrical Course
- City & Guilds 18th Edition
- City & Guilds **** Test and Inspection
- Valid ECS card
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on electrical experience
- Previous experience in similar companies or within the EV/Electrician industry
- Experience in working effectively as part of a team as well as independently
- Ability to solve problems with a positive attitude
- Self-motivated and able to learn quickly
- Strong attention to detail with high levels of accuracy
- Willingness to undertake further training as required for professional development
- Able to liaise with customers professionally and convey information
Desirable:
- Brand-specific EV training courses
- Minimum 2 years of DC charging experience.
