Our client, a well-established leading membership body, is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to oversee the finance function in a standalone role. This is a predominantly remote position of approximately 15-20 hours per week, with occasional travel to Luton as required. It would suit an experienced Financial Controller or fractional finance professional who already supports a portfolio of clients and is looking to take on an additional client.

Key responsibilities:

  • Management accounts, payroll, VAT returns and day-to-day finance operations
  • Budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management
  • Financial reporting for senior leadership and Board meetings
  • Credit control and accounts receivable management
  • Ensuring financial compliance and maintaining robust controls
  • Liaising with external accountants, auditors and stakeholders

Key requirements:

  • ACA, ACCA, CIMA qualified or equivalent experience
  • Previous Financial Controller or senior finance experience
  • Experience within a membership body, charity, institute or similar organisation is advantageous
  • Strong commercial awareness and communication skills
  • Comfortable working independently in a standalone role
  • Experience with Xero or similar accounting software
