Job Introduction
This is a fantastic opportunity to join our team as a Fitter and help us keep our rental assets in top condition ready for hire.
Your main responsibility will be to maintain and repair our extensive catalogue of rental equipment so our customers can have the equipment they need, both on time and when they need it.
This opportunity is primarily depot-based (Monday to Friday) but, depending on customer needs, some onsite and weekend working may be required.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out equipment repairs and servicing on a range of Petrol, 2-Stroke and Diesel equipment in accordance with the approved maintenance schedules.
- Ensure any necessary spare parts are requested to facilitate efficient repairs.
- Take a proactive approach to ensuring assets are available to hire, minimising any downtime impacting the customer
- Ensure all records are completed accurately and in line with company procedures
- Adhere to H&S rules / procedures at all times
- Manage and record data e. g. time allocation and spares used, stock needed
- Strive to turn equipment around as quickly as possible and always to the highest possible standard.
- What We’re Looking For
- Must have your own tools & toolbox
- Railway experience would be an advantage
- Experience of working with machinery and tools, both mechanical and electrical
- Organised and methodical approach to work, taking pride in delivery
- Professional customer service skills
- Comfortable using IT equipment
- A positive and ‘can do’ attitude to your work and to helping in other areas as and when required
- Mechanical/Electrical Qualification (such as NVQ) or proven experience in maintaining small plant
- Ability to obtain PTS/LUL certification (full training will be given as required)
- Full UK driving licence, in case offsite work is required
